I'm hoping one of you guys can point me in a direction here.  MJB has been working fine until two days ago when I installed Quicktime MP.  (I think)  I have uninstalled QT since in an effort to fix the problem but no luck.  I receive the following when I try to listen to an MP3:


ERROR STARTING PLAYBACK
There was an error starting the playback engine.
Make sure that your system has a valid sound playback device and that it is not locked by another program.



Now this is officially the first difficulty I've had with the whole computer.  I've unistalled QT and MJB has gotten along with R1 and WMP so I'm confused.  Any ideas?

Back up your license to a floppy.  Then reinstall MJ.

Changed names as the other was way to...well dumb.

Reinstalled MJB.  I'm getting the same message.  It would seem that other players are working properly.  No, I don't have them running at the same time.

An idea:  though it's strange that it would pick out MJB; do you think the supposed registry manipulation that Morpheous is reporting could be screwing me?  www.musiccity.com

Wanted to thank you for your help.  I don't know what did the trick but for your entertainment, here goes:

Uninstalled:
Creative Player
Quicktime Player
Real One Player

Re-installed:
MJB four times until it showed up in the Add/Remove section, then unistalled MJB

Downloaded and installed: 15megs in Windows updates (none of which seemed to be relavent)
