Skipping CDs
« on: March 01, 2002, 09:11:12 am »

When I rip and burn a CD, it sounds fine on my stereo and other CD players, but when I play the CDs on my car cd player (player is 6 months old), the songs seem to skip, or stop.  I have played other burned CDs from friends on my car cd player and those don't skip.  Any suggestions?

The same is happening to me.  This only started recently.  Mine is an Audi autochanger.   They play fine in my house, pc , and wifes car.

Are you using good quality blanks? Maybe try the same brand as your friends. Use CD-R, not CD-RW.

We tried using a different brand of Cd-R disk and they still skip.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

Does it make a difference if you burn the disk in MJ with the "use generic driver" option checked or unchecked?
