Basic Q on file directory hierarchy on HDD
« on: January 04, 2014, 12:40:44 pm »

Sorry for the rudimentary question. Currently, on my HDD I have music files saved under albums which are, in turn, saved under artist folders. So artist>albums>tracks. MC did not pick up all of the albums, which seemed to be the ones where I have multiple albums saved under one artist. Should I be saving my music files by album, instead of aggregating them under artist?

MC doesn't care where or how the files are stored on disk.  The media management in MC is entirely based on tags stored in MC's database (called the "Library" in MC's terminology).  You can, however, extract information from the filesystem and use it to fill the tags in MC's Library.
