Sync
« on: January 27, 2014, 07:19:40 pm »

I've been on AVS for a long time.  Built an HTPC.  Wanted to try JRiver as supposedly it has the highest quality as opposed to XBMC or Plex.  I created an MKV and have A/V sync issues.  I'm bitstreaming to my AVR and using MADVR with core i3 haswell 3.6 GHz.  Totally frustrated trying to fix it.  Any help?  Haven't purchased the product yet.

I also wish there was a pass-through for the USB-UIRT for my Lutron lighting.  MC learned the other codes just fine.

This may help:

Under MC's Help, try running the benchmark and posting here.

The default settings for Red October HQ mode are generally a bit much for the integrated GPU on a Intel CPU.  You can tweak it, however, to get acceptable performance.  Refer to the nice madVR expert guide that 6233638 wrote up, and which InflatableMouse kindly added to the Wiki: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/MadVR

If you aren't using a discreet GPU in that rig, then that's probably the cause of your AV sync issues, if you're running with ROHQ mode enabled.

I have designated certain display settings for film for 23 and 24.  That would be 1920 x 1080 x  32 23.976 and 1920 x 1080 32 x 24 respectively.

Thanks for the tips.

i adjusted video sync by a quarter second and it appears to be working.  I just hope this isn't movie by movie and that adjustment works globally.  It was painstaking to go back and forth.  Also, regular red october lip sync was off by the same margin.  Video clock didn't work either.
