Can't Rip Audio CDs
« on: February 23, 2003, 04:52:26 am »

I have a problem similar to Charlie Max.  I can't rip audio cds with MJ8 on mt WIN98 system.  I have been able to do this in the past, so I don't know what has changed.  The first cd I inserted caused the YADB search to initiate and the tracks showed up in the play window, furthermore the disc played.  However, when I stired to rip the cd, the audio cd icon in the left widow just appears and disappears, repeatedly, but nothing else happens.  The second cd I tried did not initiate the YADB search, no tracks show in the play window and it doesn't play.  Any suggestions ?

Do you have...

1) Latest MJ build (396)
2) Latest Adaptec ASPI (4.7.1.2)

Update regardless...

Go to the Adaptec site and DL latest...close MJ and run the file you DL'd. If all goes well it'll want to reboot. I'm not positive this will solve your problem but it's a place to start. If you don't care about DVD playback then upgrade MJ to the 396 build.

it also is not just a run install

it is run it, it puts the files in a filder on drive C:

then you must go into that folder and then run the install program.

then run the test program to make sure it is installed.
