As the title says, with the latest update(s) wtv and dvr-ms files are now played with no audio.

At first I thought it was a problem with my setup but then I installed it on a 2 different PCs with a fresh install with an older version (2-3 versions old I think), wtv files played fine, then I updated and now no audio.

What has been changed to cause this? Can I install a codec to fix this as in the files details, it states unknown codec for both audio and video which is weird as wtv files from UK freeview recordings have been MPEG2 for years and the format has never changed.

The latest: 19.0.127

I have attached a log file when I tried to play two files, which were fine before, now silent. You will see it says 'unknown codec' for both video and audio.  they both play fine inside WMC.  I do not have any 3rd party codec packs installed.

The log file is from my laptop which I tried, but my main Media PC has exactly the symptoms.  Let me know if you need separate files form each machine I have tried.

Do you happen to remember which version you had before?
Yaobing changed something for WTV audio recently, in 19.0.123, so maybe that's the reason?

I'll point him here to look.

Would it be possible to share a short recording which shows the problem, possibly via Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive/...?

To be honest, I'm not sure.  I don't always update as soon as one is available so I sometimes skip some updates.  I too noticed there was an entry for wtv files on the 123 realease notes.

The smallest file I have is 350mb-ish so a bit big really but can upload if it helps.

We don't mind the size, if you don't. It might help greatly, indeed. The log sadly does not provide any hints of why audio would be failing (it doesn't even indicate that it is failing).

If you do upload it, please send instructions on how to get it to logs at jriver.com, including a reference to this thread.

Yup, I made a change in build 123 that fixed the audio problem in one type of file - the file analysis says it is MPEG audio but when playing it is AC3.  LAV audio decode should decode it.  Maybe there is a different problem in your case.  I also took a quick look at the log you posted on the TV board, but could not identify any problems from it.

What is the state of play with this? Was it supposed to have been in the .128 update? Sorry to seem impatient, but I cannot play a huge library of videos and it is very frustrating to have to keep switching to another player for certain files on a living room HTPC (Family are getting stroppy at me!!)
