Web Info Feature
« on: February 15, 2002, 01:37:22 pm »

When playing a track in 7.2 current release and being in "Playing Now" I do have three tabs at the top, but none of them is "Web Info" therefore I cannot utilize this feature.  The three tabs are "Playlist", Track Info", and "Visualization".  Where is the Web Info Feature?

Sentryl,

What do you mean by "web info"?  I haven't had v7 on my machine for a while now, so I'm not sure about this, but if you mean how to get artist/album info on the web, click on BuyCD or something like that, which is at the top-right of the Playing Now screen near Filter (I think).  That will bring you to a web page.  If you select ALL Music Guide (AMG), then you can bet info on the currently playing artist or album.

Sentryl wrote, above, "but none of them is 'Web Info' therefore I cannot utilize this feature"

I think Sentryl is referring to the text you get, if you click on Jukebox|Features, on this INTERACT page.

Clicking, brings up the web page: http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/features.html
which reads, "Web Info - This feature automatically searches the Web for downloads, reviews, discographies and other information about a currently playing artist at popular music content sites, such as Launch.com and Sonicnet.com".

Sentryl, guess you are not around to respond yet.  I have to leave; I'll check back, later.  It's remarkably warm here on the water.  Think, I may just check on my boat (in water, winter storage).  Maybe, I will even have a Strawberry Cocktail on the poop deck.

No, what I am referring to is the Web info feature that will allow the lookup of an artist that is currently playing and give indepth info on that artist (history, etc).  My user's manual says that when playing a song and being now, I should see three tabs at the top with "Web Inf" as one of them.  It is NOT there.  It says that web info will take me to listen.com and or sonicnet.com....  Just wanted to look at history on various artists.

I appreciate the help.

I don't understand.  What you describe here is pretty much what I said in my previous post.  Didn't you try "Find CD"?

(And I don't know which manual you are looking at, but I searched for "web info" and couldn't find it in the v7 manual.  Perhaps you could provide more details, or copy/paste what you are looking at here).
