Can't rip on 8.206 & won't let me buy product
« on: February 15, 2002, 07:36:42 am »

I am a really new user of MJ and am having problems as I try different features. 1. Ripping: when I tried to rip I got initializing track errors and failure. I checked the Help index and tried changing to digital unbuffered, but it still doesn't work. @, I tried to buy the product several times last night. The dialog box stops on the second Obtaining authorization and stalls there. Once it just crashed and turned off my system. Each time I try it disrupts my connection to the internet and I have to reboot to get bacl online.

Thanks for all of your help.

Dennis

PS: I also have Musicmatch installed and this is the default. However I make sure that it is not running when I've tried to use MJ. To rip, I've had to do it in MM and then send the files to MJ using Explorer.

Sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Does the ripping problem occur on all CD's you try? Which OS are you running on? If it's NT/2K/XP, try switching the drive type from IDE to ASPI (or vice-versa).
As far as the purchasing problem, if you can hang on and use the trial period until next Tuesday, I can help you troubleshoot the problem. Email me at johnt@jriver.com and I'll look into it on Tuesday (we have a 3 day holiday weekend).

Take care,
