Hey Doof - Found and dl'd the wnaspi32.dll file OK. Put it in Program files/JRiver cause you have a newer version of Windows than I.

Everything sure looks like it's running better. Think I'll live dangerously now and re-install MJv8.0.203 and see how it reacts.

Thanks so-much for your help.

where it says "Rip CD" in V8, didn't it say "copy" in V7? I kept right-clicking and selecting "copy" but nothing would happen

JimH will not be pleased at all if we continue to hold a discussion here about the nuts between our keyboards and chairs, loose or otherwise.

If you start MJ up in Party Mode, it informs you that in order to deactivate Party Mode, you should go to the "Mode" menu.

Only problem is, the "Mode" menu no longer exists. Next Page

TRACKINFO_INSERT_DURATION

...is now not inserting correct information anymore. On my setup it is
yielding 12/31/1969 7:08:43 PM instead of the correct info/format.

Statistics are great. How about expanding them to show other fields as well, like Genre, Year, etc. and show file counts as well as file sizes in each view?

Download Manager Suggestions :

Start with Windows
Start Minimized
Minimize to System Tray
Hide System Tray Icon

Allow RESUMING!! Next Page

Allow dragging of files within Download Manager to change the queue order.

Add "Pause This Download" and "Pause All Downloads"

Add a "Download Now" right click command that would override the Maximum number of downloads setting and start downloading that file, regardless of where it is in the queue.

Add toolbar buttons for many of the commands (Cancel Download, Clear, Download Now, etc.)

An automatic FTP search that will search for the file you're downloading on numerous FTP sites and automatically download from the fastest one.

Other things I'd like to see, but really aren't that important :

An indication of how far along each piece of a Fragment Download is. The best implementation of this I've seen is an actual split progress bar, where each split represented a fragment.

Skin support.

That cool new Column Auto-Size technology you guys developed for MJ. Next Page

Automatic virus scanning using whatever anti virus software you have installed.

Download Manager : For some reason, some downloads get to 99% and then just turn to "Canceled". This is particularly frustrating when pairing this up with it's inability to resume download and trying to download an NT service pack. Next Page

This could be coincidence, but it seems as though this problem is solely with fragmented downloads.

CD Burning Problems:

Well, I finally got a burner attached to my MJ machine. I had problems yesterday getting MJ it burn data files (just straight mp3s), but it seems to work today. (I changed the cd settings in MJ to 2x speed, that same as the post-trial MJ speed, might just be a coincidence.)

Today I thought I'd try creating an audio cd from mp3s and got this error:

"A device error has occurred. Error number is 1000 Error data is: KEY: 0 ASC: 0 ASCQ: 0"

This happened after all files were "processed", but before it could start writing the files to the cd. Any ideas?

Running Win98se, 300mhz, 168mb ram.

Thanks.

Doof,
Respectfully, I think you are wrong...the 'Seeking' setting is what Next and Prev should be using (I think). 'Between Tracks' should mean for Play button clicks (that's how I understand it). Maybe Matt can clear this issue up for me (us).

Here's what it means now, but maybe our terminology could be better.

Seeking: moving around inside of a single track
Between Tracks: when you switch from one track to another (starting from a stopped state doesn't use this because there is no other track to fade with)

Let us know if there's terminology that would be more clear.

CD Burning Problems, pt 2:

Just tried again with a smaller number of files, 6 instead of 20, and it "processes" the files, then the dialog says "preparing to write," then:

"A device error has occurred. Error number is 1021 Error data is: KEY: 5 ASC: 21 ASCQ: 0"

Note a different error number.

Matt,

So, what controls how MJ switches between tracks when one track ends and the next is queued automatically.  Between Tracks seems to control that, but ALT Play click does not follow the Between Tracks settings for ALT.  Basically, I'm thinking I should be able to have the default playback and the ALT playback (that's what is implied, I thought).
