I just ripped a new Blu-ray of a 4:3 film, which is stored on the disc as 1920x1080.
Video is displayed correctly - it's pillarboxed, however the subtitles are clearly horizontally compressed and display very skinny text as though the player was meant to stretch them out.
Any chance we could get an option to override the aspect ratio for subtitles?
I can't imagine that it would be necessary to have anything more than 4:3→16:9
