Hi,
Can I convert audio files to the AAC format within MC and if so, what steps do I need to take to accomplish that?
Thanks!

There is no AAC convertor that I know of (at least in my default installs)

I thought I read somewhere that you could somehow connect MC and Quicktime to get some aac action but I am not certain on that.

Correct. MC can be configured to work with an external encoder. A search on Interact should show the way. I'm away from home so the OP will need to do a bit of looking around.
