Conversion of longer tracks in lossless files 'timing out'
« on: December 07, 2014, 08:46:41 am »

I am having an issue with the conversion of lossless files 'timing out' I believe. I have the current MC20.0.44 version on Windows 8. I have already converted many DSD or WAV lossless files to MP3 but looks like the cutoff point may be at about a 15-18 minute track time? When I have been trying to convert a 20 minute or longer track from DSD (5644 dff) or WAV lossless to ANY MP3 rate, the conversion process starts but stops at around 80% I would say. I also tried to convert that same DSD 20 minutes song to APE but that conversion did not work and the same result. I get a FAILED note but nothing that tells me why. I have tried to convert the same DSD file to WAV lossless and then convert to MP3 but even the WAV lossless conversion to MP3 times out. I ripped a 20 minute track off a CD in APE and it converts fine to MP3. Please advise. Thank you for your help.

Could you make a sample of one of the files that isn't working available to me for testing?  I'm matt at jriver dot com.  Thanks.

Yes I do. What is the best way to get it to you as it is 851mb?
Thanks

I have a better idea and will be easier for both of us...I will burn it to a DVD-R+ disc and mail it to your attention there. I won't need the disc back at all and you can keep it. I am really in no hurry to get this done. I will let you know when it is in the mail so you know when to expect it. I will include all the details how the disc was made too. Thanks.
