Two Zone Audio Solution
« on: November 19, 2014, 09:31:35 am »

Hi, I am looking to upgrade my audio systems to hi-resolution. I've got thousands of CD's that I have ripped over the past 20 years that run anywhere from 128Kbps to 256Kbps with a lot being VBR. Sound quality is not good. I would like to use MC to rip all my CDs at the highest loss-less format capable. Does anyone have recommendations for best format for CD? I am also looking at HDTracks.

I am looking to setup a MC on my PC with a USB Schiit Modi DAC. My first zone is a Emotiva UPA-200 amp with Carver C1 pre and Polk Audio RTI A1 speakers. The second zone is a Onkyo TX8050 receiver with a pair of Bose 301 Series 6.

I would like to run shielded coax cable from the PC to the two zones. One run is 25'. The other just under 50'. The Onkyo receiver supports DLNA but I am leary of using that as the target. Is it ok to split off the RCA output and send to the two zones via 25' and 50' pairs of shielded coax cable and not get any drop in signal? Any issues running MC in that configuration?

Are there any other suggestions for this solution?
