Transfering File from External Hard Disk
« on: November 22, 2014, 12:43:46 pm »

I just removed the hard drive from my computer on which I have numerous music files and replaced it with a SSD.  I then attempted to copy the music files from the old (now external) hard drive to the new (internal) SSD.  Initially this appeared to have been a success as all my albums with artwork and files appeared under Audio in JRMC20.  However when I try to play Audio I get the following error message:  "The file could not be found.  Check that the filename in the library matches the filename on the disk".  I do not wish to store the music on the old hard drive but rather to transfer all of the old music files to the new SSD.

Any advice as to how to deal with this error message and problem would be much appreciated.

The drive/path/filename in the library is the drive/path/filename on the old disk
If the new drive has a different drive letter or path, JRiver won't find the files.

Compare the File name in JRiver with the actual location on the SSD
You can use Library Tools > Move, rename copy to correct the file name in the library
