An extremely brief google search indicates that your receiver isn't compatible with DSD.

Maybe you're getting DSD mixed up with DTS and DTS-HD, which the Yamaha RX-V673 does support? Admittedly, they do look a bit alike.

To expound, if you are running HDMI, you want to disable output encoding (set to None).

Hi, thank you for your replies.

Re not compatible with DSD, I was not suggesting I thought it was.  Merely showing the options the JRiver presented me with. But thanks for clarifying.

Re: DTS and DTS-HD, these are not options available to me currently within JRiver

Re: disable output encoding (set to None).  I'll try that now.  But last two attempts to run JRiver and is hung, so might be a reinstall.

Thanks again

Hurray, "...disable output encoding (set to None)" worked a treat.  Sorted lip-synch and audio format issues in one fell swoop.

Thanks all for your time and patience.

Steep learning curve been well worth it
