Now that MJ has a whole bunch of whizzo new data CD burning gear, I thought it was a good time to re-archive my stuff.

Central to the way I would like to proceed is separating Artists for whom I have only 2 or 3 tracks.
In V7 this was extra simple with the Statistical Views at the head of each branch of the tree.

Anybody know how I can do this now?

Hi Callithumpian,

The easiest way I see is to create a simple artist view then jump from artist to artist
to retrieve the number of tracks per artist, then add to desired CD-burner playlists.
You can also create smartlists with an artist rule for each but that can be tedious
if your database is like mine ( 1000 artists with more than 500 having only one or 2 tracks!)
Anyway, you probably had those ideas in mind too.

We're really missing the stats views here !

How do you know you have 1000 artists?
When I saw your post, I thought "How did s/he find that out?"
I figured I was missing something.  Had another look around.
Later, I've decided, you're just guessing aren't you?

I too am missing the stats view from v7.  I would actually like to see that back and some additional stats capabilities.  Some things I would like:

-- Album counts by a certain filter (checking for "Lame 3.89" or "Lame 3.91" in the comment field for example).

-- Album counts by artist.

-- Total artist count.

-- Total number of albums and an average number of songs per album.

-- Etc.

Since it doesn't appear that the data is stored in any kind of a database that we can get to, it would be nice to have some built in statistical views in MJ.

I also thought it would be really cool to have an "Album" view that could be set up in addition to the standard song view.  On the left, a tree view of artists and on the right pictures of album art for each album I have by the selected artist on the left.  Under each picture, the year and title of the album.  Maybe even a popup list of songs on the album when I mouse over the cover art.

I know - it's just a dream.  But perhaps something to think about for MJ9??

Yep, that's a guess.
But I remember I had some 1067 artists in MJ7.2 just before I upgraded to 8.0.
