Just wanted to give this a new thread since the general syncing issues have been resolved for me.

If you have an Artist names (.38 Special) or Album name (...But Seriously) that starts with a leading period, they sync properly, but then PonoMusicWorld is no longer able to detect that they are on the device and they are copied over again on subsequent syncs.

A leading period on a folder/file name designates a hidden file/folder in unix which probably explains it.  iTunes get around this by changing leading "." to "_", PMW should do something similar to avoid putting hidden files/folders on the device.
