Video stutter... [solved]
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:16:01 pm »

Running last version... Thought this issue was from a video I was playing, but I'm seeing it on all videos (where before playback was smooth)
It seems like the frame rate drops below 30 frames every second, for one second, and keeps exhibiting this behaviour throughout. In between "stuttering" the playback is fine....

Enable VideoClock if you haven't already.
Try switching to Red October Standard if you are using HQ.

Video clock enabled and using RO standard always.
Hardware decoding makes no difference.

Sorry cannot help but I have noticed a similar problem after upgrading to MC20 from MC19.
In MC19 everything played smoothly using RO HQ now I have to downgrade to RO standard to get smooth playback.

It may be possible that madVR has been changed/upgraded/improved by its developer and when you installed a newer version of JRiver (you got a different version of madVR) which now requires some settings changes to maintain the same level of playback your used to. When you switch to RO-Std you are not using madVR anymore, which may explain why you are then getting smooth playback.

I don't know the answer - I'm just throwing this out there for thought.

It looks like madVR is on version v0.87.13 now. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146228

It has just occurred to me the root of my issue. I am running MC on my laptop which has dual GPUs. When I upgraded to MC20 I forgot to re-associate it with my nVidia GPU instead of the Intel, now I have done that it works smoothly as before. Sorry for the confusion.

How do you "associate"  the vid card? Or is that only possible with dual gpu?

Tried increasing video memory (integrated graphics), to no avail. Dropped in my R7 desktop adapter in my HTPC and picture ran great, even at HQ settings. Smooth...
Just not enough horsepower in the integrated graphics.
But have noticed this stuttering issue on mkv files and never on mp4 files.
