I have been using WMC for many years but am now a JRiver fan.

I have had no issues setting everything up however I have a query that people here may be able to answer easily.

What I am after is for my wife to have the same library as me - just pointing to a different music collection. She would prefer not to listen to 80s soul and r&b.

I have created a user for her in media center but how do I associate a library with her jriver user?

Note we are always logged on as the same user in Windows.

By creating a new user in the jriver software I thought I could just select her user in Theatre view then I can change the auto import locations. However - changes to the library with a different user selected Changes the library for both users.

How can I achieve this?

Welcome to the forum.

You could add a custom view under Audio.  Right click to start.

If you really want separate libraries, MC can do that.  File/Library...

Each collection of Music is in a separate network share, I.e.

\\WHS-SRV\Flac
\\WHS-SRV\Wife

I see with the customize view I can select a file path which I think is what I'm after.

What I really need is for each view to be selectable separately in Theatre View however I always seem to see Music from both locations in there.

A few more pointers and I'm sure I'll get there!

Ok so I found the easiest method is to add the Mrs as a user and myself as another user.

I then set the user tag on each album to add my user name to my music and leave music we both like alone. This hides all of my music that she hates from her user profile. Neater that way too as I don't need to seperate my music into seperate network Shares.
