There is no way of doing it.
If your HD channel and its corresponding SD channel (carrying the same program) are of the same tuner type (like on cable system where they have both versions), the best thing to do it to hide the SD channel and not use it at all. If you are concerned with shows aired on totally different channels, I understand the concern, but there is no way around it at this time.
