having problems with authentication on the server.
« on: March 20, 2015, 05:02:13 pm »

all devices already connected to the server connect with no problem, however new clients JRemote, and a PC im setting up at friends cannot connect
it just keeps popping up the dialog to enter in username and pass.
I've tried going to server chaning password, but it does not connect just keeps popping up the dialog.

Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks

Maybe you're connecting to an older version of the server (MC19, for example).

Have you tried a local IP addy instead of an Access Key?

version .84 on server and .84 on client

the client is outside my network (i'm teamed into their machine)
when typing in my main library access key jriver locks up on the client for a few seconds

then when you click media center icon in taskbar and click on password it just brings the password back up, after hitting ok it just keeps coming back (on jremote the error would be wrong username/password)

If i try ip, the authentication box pops up instantly with no hang however after hitting ok it just keeps popping back

Firewalls?

Try it locally first.

just went to local server changed Id to joeblow1, then went to client file\library\main library and client locked up(stopped responding) once the jriver client restarted it asked for authentication, i then typed in joeblow1 and hit ok (password was remembered) and im in.

on jriver server (friends house) i chose add library, entered access key it locked up for 16 seconds (1 one thousand) then authentication box popped up. i changed it to joeblow1 and it instantly popped up authentication box again.
I then decided to test one of my other servers at home via jriver server at friends house, so i entered in that access key, again it locked up for 16 seconds (1 one thousand) then authentication box popped up. i changed it to joeblow1 and it instantly popped up authentication box again.

checked friends windows fire wall, allow program through media center 20 -  private/public both checked.
verified ports on router/software match and enabled.
NOTE at friends house if i use there laptop-client (which i installed jriver on for them that one connects to any access key/any authentication instantly.

I have reinstalled JRiver .84 3 times on the server i'm having problems with (again friends place via team viewer)

Ive uninstalled JRemote (new beta) and have yet to be successful logging in with authentication.
jremote beta is being tested in local network/wifi
