Request: Full-screen A/V Sync Correction
« on: February 28, 2015, 12:54:35 am »

It is fantastic that Media Center offers separate A/V Sync controls for 24Hz and 50/60Hz, since that is a common issue with many displays, and surprisingly few players offer this.
I think I've requested it before, but would it be possible to have an offset to account for differences between full-screen and windowed playback?

In full-screen mode there's an additional 83ms of latency, since I have to switch the display into film mode rather than leaving it in PC mode.

After doing some additional testing, it looks like there would have to be separate offsets for 24/60Hz.
It seems that the latency added is two frames, which would be 83ms at 24Hz, but only 33ms at 60Hz.

How do you measure the 60hz?  I have purchased and tested with the sync-one 2 that you have mentioned in another thread, but they don't seem to have a 60hz test pattern?

Thanks!!!!!

I agree, my measurement at 24hz is about 80 to 90ms difference from windowed versus exclusive mode.  I can get exact readings if it's helpful for this testing/cause.  Thanks

There is a 60 FPS test file at the bottom of the page here: http://sync-one2.co.uk/support/test-files/
But 30 FPS would be played back at 60Hz too.
