Problems with Importing
« on: March 20, 2015, 11:43:30 pm »

On both my PC's same result.  Tools/import or Tools/configure import.  When you hit finish, no action.  Any other click, results in a crash.  You can send files from windows Explorer to MC to get around the problem.

Could I have something configured wrong?  I'd get this occasionally, but now it is consistent.  Running .84 on an up to date Win 8.1

Thanks

Try a smaller import, you might have a file MC has a problem with.
Try one artist first. If that works, then divide and conquer until you find the offending file.

Good luck,

And when you find the offending file, please share it with matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

Thanks guys for the input and help.

I have a LARGE library, so this will be a bit challenging, but I'm due for some luck...maybe I'll hit it early in the process.  Will report back.

this little program might help, called Audio Tester and you just drag and drop directories and let in trun ... it will point out "truncated" flac files and other errors in flac and Mp3files that could cause the issue. I think it finds file names that are too long too. Just got updated in February.

If there are errors found that doesn't mean they aren't playable, but I'd weed those out first, asone file could block up the whole queue. I had 88 files out of 100K that were preventing audio analysis, and this helped me sort things a lot faster.

We need to have something like the "Rep" system on this Forum for posts like that one.

(For those unaware, some Forums, such as head-fi or bigsoccer, have a button you can click, on helpful posts.  The one at bigsoccer pre-dated "like" on Facebook... )

O.T. -- a favorites and a save to draft option would be nice too ;)
