DNLA Folders
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:49:31 am »

Hi

I am testing some Streamer Software. I have JRiver set up as a DNLA server and can see the output fine. It shows as [PC Name] (Generic DNLA)

I see folder structure Artist/Album/Recent/Genre/Composer etc which allows for reasonable navigation

Where is that list defined is it in JRiver or the Streamer App ?. Can I add to it alter it etc

My Theatre View has separate rollers for Classical & Rock to aid in navigation. I also split Main Composers from All Composers using a rule

Can any of these Rules be used to define the DNLA output or is that fixed within the receiving App

The software is Cambridge Audio COnnect out of interest.

Yes, the DLNA views are separately configurable just like the Theater View views. Go into Tools/Options/Media Network/Add or Configure DLNA servers, and you should find the default views there.

I'm writing from memory, won't be home until tomorrow night. It's definitely under the DLNA settings in Media Network.  Can you find Media Network first of all?

Here you go:

First goto 'Tools --> Options' and select 'Media Network' on the left

Then select 'Add or configure DLNA servers' in the main window (highlighted in red below):

Then select the DLNA server you want to configure, in this case 'Generic DLNA':

...and then select 'Customize views' (highlighted in red above):
