Upgraded to Windows 10 - are all my playlists now lost?
« on: August 30, 2015, 11:08:53 pm »

I'm new here - have spent the last hour checking things out and picked up the latest version of Media Centre, thank you.

Problem is I upgraded to Windows10 last week and now can't get into the old Media Jukebox I used to run. Are my playlists gone for good? Is there anyway to get into the old set up, download those lists and upload into MC20?

Gutted if I end up losing weeks worth of work.

If you back up your library in MJ, you can restore it MC.   See if that works.

You might be able to get MJ to work by reinstalling it.

By 'reinstall' you mean uninstall and reinstall? I would have thought that would remove all play lists etc.  I'm reluctant to try that unless as a last resort..... do you think it's worth the chance?

Hi again - I've asked around and found that reinstall is to download again without uninstalling (I'm obvs very very green around the gills on this stuff - sorry) but I did that and it worked

Play lists intact!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!  You're blimmin legend!  Really made my day (which was starting to look really crappy).

thanks

You can normally just install MC, without first uninstalling.  The only time you need to uninstall should be when you've changed to a new major version (20 to 21, for example).
