I would like some advice on correct configuration for Room Correction and Bass Management with my new setup.
I have:
- A 7.1 system
- A miniDSP DAC (U-DAC8) configured as a WASPI device
- A miniDSP Dirac Live processor (DDRC-88A)
- Room correction is handled by the DDRC-88A
- I primarily watch movies but do listen to some music also (70/30)
I would like to confirm that I have setup JRiver appropriately.
In DSP Studio I have set the following:
Output Format:
- Channels: 7.1
- Mixing: JRSS mixing
- For stereo sources only mix to 2.1 is checked
- Subwoofer is set to "Silent (use Room Correction to redirect bass)"
Room Correction:
- All channels set to 0 for both Volume Level and Distance
- Bass Management for each channel is set to an appropriate Crossover frequency (60-12 Hz) and either "Copy bass to subwoofer" or "Move bass to subwoofer" (still experimenting).
My question then is are the above settings correct for both mixing (to 7.1) and especially for Bass Management?
My biggest concern is the LFE channel and the fact that I must set it in "Room Correction". I don't want JRiver to do any room correction at all other than route bass to the sub as I have specified.
Thanks
