options=>playback=>output
« on: February 08, 2003, 09:24:32 am »

I use MJ v.8.0.393. The helpfile does not provide a clear understanding for the options provided.  What is the difference between "wave out (default)" and "direct sound"?  And ... when would I ever use "disk writer"?

For the "output" settings, what is the difference between "wave mapper (recommended)" and the option which points at the computer's own sound resource (audio card)?

For a somewhat tech explanation of DS vs WO see this

Diskwriter must send the audio output to the hard drive as a wav. This can be done using Convert Format as well (to uncompressed wave). No idea on last question...check the help file.
