DoP
« on: October 10, 2014, 12:12:37 pm »

I did a search for DoP on this forum but could not find anything.

I just got a iFi iDSD Nano dac to play hi-res files natively from my iPhone.  JRemote will play all the PCM (at least up to 192K) just fine but it coughs on playing DSD natively.  Could JRemote be updated to play DoP natively (like the Onkyo HF app does)?

Thanks.

I also intend on purchasing the same DAC in a few weeks. Hopefully DoP can be integrated into a near release if possible.
Love the App and the great support Lespaul

Unfortunately, DSD is not currently supported by the audio framework that JRemote uses.
I will include it when becomes available.

Any chance as a stop-gap measure one could convert DSD to PCM (without having to apply the normal JRemote transcoding)?

Thanks.

I don`t think it would be possible at the moment to send converted DSD files to the remote.
I`ll talk with Matt and see if he can add an option for it in the web service.

As you know, MC already support this conversion on the fly, so should be possible.

Any news on getting DSD>PCM conversion to work in JRemote?

Currently only way I can get SACD ISO to stream to JRemote is selecting transcode to MP3 in JRemote.
Is there another way to do this yet or am I out of luck?

Cheers

Its not possible yet. The audio framework that JRemote use now generally support DOP, but not iOS version of it.
That may change later.

Might it be possible to work with Matt to add a transcode to FLAC option along side your MP3 options on JRemote?

Sure, we can look at the possibility of doing DSD streaming with transcoding on server.
Don`t know much about this personally, but Matt and Hendrik do.

I recently purchased Oppo HA-2  to stream DSD using JRemote to Oppo PM-3 Headphones. I was surprised that JRemote with MC 20 cannot stream DSD  ?. I have a large collection of SACD/DSF files and would like to stream it using JRemote.
Is this feature coming up soon? If not can somebody suggest an alternate app that allows DSD streaming?

Hi Lespaul, Hi guys,
my doubts as a newbie are as follows:
I'm trying to settle my pc-based hifi but
I cannot get the info if JRemote can allow me to choose whether convert PCM -> DSD (2xDSD in DoP Format from Option/DSP) or not.
From http://www.jremote.net/ I read it can allow me to switch off the PC.
If also DoP is controlled by JRemote, I wouldn't need a monitor buying a desktop instead of a notebook.

Thanks in advance for your help
