I just downloaded foobar and these tracks play fine.  Am converting to WAV and will reencode to MP3...can't see why MC doesn't like them tho???

I downloaded some MPC files

Isn't  this a bit illegal? I can't think of many sites that offer this an option, legally.

Try this phrase next time:I just encoded...

J River will not be liable then...

If memory serves, the MPC decoder plug-in broke during one of the old 9.0 beta builds, and it never got fixed (read:  updated).

Personally, I would jump for joy if someone rewrote the decoder plug-in.  Of all the lossy formats, MPC is my favorite as far as sound quality is concerned.

J River writes the code for this. Trelane gave it to them a long time ago. They need to update it.

The mpc decoder works fine for me in .237.  I've got around 200 CDs all encoded as .mpc...

Wow.  Look at me jumping around!  You're absolutely right!

After reading your message, I converted one of my ape's off-line, drag-and-dropped it to MC's Playing Now window, and now I'm listening to it!

Awesome.

Thanks!

I removed that post...I dont wanna get JRiver into trouble...but MPC still doesn't work for me in MC.  I had to transcode them into MP3 which kinda defeated the object...

Sounds strange - I have happily encoded and played mpc in MC 9.1 from the beginning. I have only mpc files.
What happens when you try to play one back?
