REVO/ASIO question

I installed MC9 on my friend's PC with a REVO and set it up for ASIO.  I was suprised to see that MC9 had control over the volume.  When I moved the slider, the main slider for the REVO moved as well.  

I have a 410 and volume control is disabled when using ASIO.  

Is this normal behavior for the REVO/ASIO with MC9?

 I'm curious (... because I am about to install a Revo, and because I've seen a number of posts elsewhere regarding the proper volume slider settings for the Revo (all max?) ...), if you expected the volume control to be disabled, how would you control the volume?

They are not disabled with the REVO.  Only on the 410 and only in MC9.  You can still control the volume via the M-Audio control panel.  

But volume operation will be normal in MC9 with the REVO.

Yes ... I understand.  I could have been more clear ... what I don't understand is the Windows volume slider settings ... which?, what? & why?  Are they all to be set to max ('cept the main volume) ... and the M-Audio center to be then after used primarily?

They are all connected.  So, if you turn the volume up to max in MC9, the slider will move to max in the M-Audio control panel as well as in Windows audio mixer.
