ATI has this in thier MMC.  I think it would be a good addition to MC.

When I right click to get to the TV start recording menu.  Add some menu items such as:

Record for:  30 min
Record for: 1 hour
Record for: 2 hour
Record until: xxx (calculated based on the time  8:00 am for example)
Record until:  yyy
Record until: zzz

Also, give the ability to configure the default for what happens with one touch record.  Ie. Record for 2 hours,
