Is Media Server for HTTP serving?
« on: July 08, 2003, 08:22:29 am »

I cannot get it to serve via a browser...

I get the following:

07/08/03 11:18:34 - sharing thread started
07/08/03 11:18:34 - sending 400
07/08/03 11:18:34 - Invalid Media Server protocol attempted.
07/08/03 11:18:34 - sharing thread exiting

Am I doing something wrong?  I can find the Media Server from inside Media Center, but I want to be able to hit my mp3s from any internet connected computer, not have to install MC on each computer.

You can't do it that way. It can only be accessed from Media Center.

Just share your MP3 directory in IIS and give your bros the web address...

Notmad Explorer has a web share app that allows you to browse and play files over the web. The only catch is that you can only do this if your Nomad jukebox is attached to the computer--you can't share from the hard drive.

Does anybody know of a similar app that will allow web-based browsing of albums/artists/playlists and playback for a hard-drive library?
