excluded folder keep being imported
« on: July 19, 2017, 08:54:35 am »

I've just noticed that even though I've excluded a child folder in Auto Import, when I manually "Import a single folder" that's its parent, the exclusion is not honoured (Auto Import does honour it).  Is this expected behavior? I would think that an exclusion is meant to apply all over the board.

Exclusions only apply to auto-import, manual imports don't account for them. Generally we assume that people running manual import want to fully import the folder they are pointing at.

Thanks, Hendrick, I can understand the assumption, but at least to me it seems counter-intuitive. Exclusions are set for a reason; MC shouldn't second guess the user. It could have been a porn folder that was included against my wish :)

Exclusions are configured in the same place as the "inclusions" for auto-import - in the auto import configuration dialog, therefor them applying to manual imports seems rather counter-intuitive to me.

Then manual import should allow us to exclude subfolders.
