JRiver as DLNA Renderer with DSP
« on: July 26, 2017, 12:42:50 am »

I am hoping to use JRiver MC like this:

* On a (silent) i5 computer in my audio room
* As a DLNA renderer (not server)
* With DSP turned on to implement parametric EQ (maybe later, DRC) and crossover to stereo subs
* Connected to a 4-channel DAC by USB

1. Is this likely to work reliably? Tests with another MC system at home seemed fine (in 2 ch and no DSP).

2. Would Windows or Linux be better for this? Is either release of MC more reliable/stable/featured?

3. Any reason I couldn't walk up to the computer and use MC as a USB player if I wanted?

Thanks for hints, suggestions, etc.
