Streaming Tidal via JRiver to SOtM 200Ultra
« on: February 18, 2019, 05:09:16 am »

Hi,

like the title says, I want to stream Tidal via JRiver to my SOtM music renderer.
I have Tidal desktop and JRiver MC installed on my laptop, and want to play music over the network to my SOtM.

I have activated the JRiver WDM driver and chose this in Tidal as sound output. In SOtM OS I have activated DLNA.
I then chose Network Streamer as Audio Device in JRiver MC. SOtM is recognized on the network and appears on the left side under Players.
All good so far. When I start playback in Tidal, JRiver plays the lpc stream for 2 seconds then stops. And I get no sound from my SOtM..
I have ticked the box 'Use media network to share this library and enable DLNA'

I guess I have missed something in the JRiver DLNA settings?

Thank you in advance for any help.

If I recall correctly and if I'm not mistaken (which I may), I don't think the WDM driver works over DLNA.

I think that's right.

The wiki has a topic on the WDM Driver.   It can capture Tidal output (or any browser or other output) and route it through JRiver.

Thanks for your replies!

Is it also correct that the wdm driver cannot be used over DLNA?
This is really my last resort for using Tidal desktop with my SOtM..

I don't want to use Bubbleupnp on my phone as it has a very poor user interface and the recognition of dlna devices takes a very long time (10-15 minutes).

I believe that's correct, from what I recall reading.
