HELP! Just Purchased MC9 - Registration Problem
« on: June 26, 2003, 08:33:53 am »

I just purchased MC9 from within demo version 9.0.180 of MC9. After purchase screen displayed my registration number, I got another screen full of numbers which I assume is the registration number code, or something, that supposed to install in MC9.  When I went back to MC9 and clicked on help - registration info, it said MC9 was still unregistrered with 19 days left in the demo. I went back to the webpage and clicked on the registration number (this is what the webpage says to do if you have trouble). MC9 still says I don't have a registered version of the program. I am using Opera 7.11 as my default browser. I refuse to use IE6.

So what' the heck do I do now? I don't want to waste the number of times I can reinstall the program.

I understand, but I have already purchased the program using Opera 7.11, so how do I now use IE6 to install the license without wasting a reinstall and paying all over again?

From reading the registration info, it seems you have a limited number of re-installs ( a concept on I don't like, since I believe that one you buy software you should be able to reinstall it as many times as you need to).

Anyway how do I proceed? Thanks for the speedy answer.

well did you save the Key File to disk?

if so it is unlimited for the file for 14 days

if not you will need to go to the restore page again. this time look for the text to save the file to disk (if i remember right you may need to right click and save to drive.

OK. I downloaded the key file ( I also got a copy in the email confirmation) and finally got the software registered. However, what happens after 14 days regarding the key file?

How many times can the software be reinstalled?

I tend to rebuild my computer every 12-18 months with a new motherboard, cpu and ram. I recycle the optical drives and hard disks into the new system. This requires reinstalling the OS from scratch and all my software. So how many MC9 reinstalls do I get?

Of course, I understand that if and when MC10 comes along I will have to purchase an upgrade which will give me more reinstalls, but for the time being, the next 12 months or so, how many times can I reinstall to the same computer?

Thanks again.
