[Feature Request] Choose which Media Key to use in JRiver
« on: November 15, 2017, 05:00:34 pm »

Hi,

Today I was tinkering a bit with all the settings in Media Center and at a certain point I realized that the Volume Up/Down/Mute didn't work anymore. After a bit of panic I discovered that Media River hogs all the Media Keys on the Mac keyboard.

IMHO, it's 100% useless to hog the Volume Keys as those are used to set System Volume (and, besides, software volume should be always set to Max).

This is how EVERY audio player behaves on Mac: Fidelia, Audirvana, Pure Music. Those use the Play/Stop, Previous Track and Next Track keys on the keyboard but they don't hog the Volume Up, Volume Down and Mute keys.
As a Mac user, this is how I expect JRiver to behave.

Besides... I can see there are some people on Macs who are ok with using the Volume keys to control the software volume in JRiver, so I kindly ask to give us an option where we can set which media keys to use in JRiver and which to let the system use.

Thanks!
