The script to fix this doesn't seem to be working for mc24.  Is there an updated version I need to download?

When testing I get the message "Media Center is NOT open!"  it is though.

Are you using an older version of the script or have multiple versions of MC installed? The latest script is working fine here with MC24

I downloaded it on March 9th, so I would assume it's the latest version.  I did install mc24 on a different drive that mc23.  I uninstalled mc23 after installing mc24. 

The desktop shortcut to restart the display menu does work, however.

additional info:  I have not installed the last 2 (i think) creator's patch or whatever ms calls it.

If you are still running 1607, it just hit EOL on 2018-04-10 and will not be receiving any further security updates.
You really need to update your PC.

I hoped that wasn't the solution.  I'll update and report back if I still have the problem.

It's also worth noting that Microsoft has made several attempts at fixing the underlying issue (and has to some degree) since the release of 1607 too.

Updated to 1703.  So far it seems to be working.  Thanks guys!

installed the creator's update and now the problem is back.  is there an updated script?

Should I just go back to 23?  It loaded faster and actually worked.

You probably have to remove then re-add the script to Task Scheduler (probably can via the script's setup). MC24 and the Fall Creators Update work fine here with the latest version of the script.
