JRiver library with files on cloudstorage
« on: June 26, 2018, 06:13:41 am »

I am not sure this topic has been discussed elsewhere, but I am still looking for ways to have my files on Dropbox (or any other cloudbased storage) and have JRiver use the remote files. And yes I know, it works when you sync the files to the computer but I do not want that as I have > 25TB of material.

There are various ways to accomplish this: Stablebit Cloud Drive lets you mount various cloud services as drives (and in combination with their Drivepool tool you can even mix and match local and cloud storage, set up redundancy, etc.). Google Drive File Stream is also an option, but it requires a G Suite for Business account.

Apparently Rclone can also mount cloud storage as local drives, but from what I understand it requires a bit more or tweaking and it doesn't work on all OS'es (I think).
