m3u8 streaming broken...

With MC23 I had some radio channels on car radio buttons - press the car radio button - play the radio.  Worked great.

But now I've noticed that when I click the button, the "playlist" is dumped, via the browser, as a file onto my desktop...

m3u8 are associated with MC24 using Automatic for the method.

File->Open URL shows same behaviour.

Playing URL in VLC  works fine.

Just tried last version of MC23 on a different computer and no longer works there either, so I guess some change was made with 23 which has broken m3u8?

I just pasted the URL into File -> Open URL and it plays just fine for me. Imported into the database fine as well and works when I launch it from there.

This plays for me in 24.0.28 and 24.0.29.

Need some help then figuring out why it's not working for me and Matt...

m3u8 is associated with MC in both MC and Windows (7), but, as above, clicking on a link causes it to be downloaded as a file on the browser, not played within MC.  The file/link plays as expected in other media players.  So some "thing" has "broken" somewhere...

Resolved.

The URLs I was using for streaming stopped working (I'm guessing the nonuk bit) - when I updated the URLs to new links everything is once again working (and relax!!)...

Perhaps MC could be a little more helpful with non-functioning streaming links - instead of just handing off the link to the browser it might put up an error message "this stream does not work" or something similar.  The downloading via browser had me hunting through all sorts of configuration options both inside, and outside, of MC when in the end it turned out to be the URL itself.
