Hi,
I have a dedicated Windows PC and a dedicated Mac Mini, both for exclusive audio playback of files stored in a Syonology DS 216Play NAS. in RAID 1.
After 30 minutes of inactivity, Synology enters in HDD Disk hibernation.
a) If I try to listen music from the Windows 10 PC:
- I get a message from Media Center saying [ Spinning Drives ]
- After a few seconds, Media Center start playing normally
b) If I try to listen music from the Mac Mini:
- No message saying [ spinning drives ]
- After a few seconds, get a message saying [ There's a problem connecting server ]
As the Mac Mini Runs headless, it's an irritating problem because I have to connect it to a monitor, run Finder to open a folder in the Synology NAS, and than Media Center start playing normally.
I know I could leave the HDDs on all the time (in raid 1 mode).
But I wont for longevity of the HDDs and power consumption.
Is it a Media Center for MAC bug?
I tried everything (like open a mounted folder on Synology after boot, among other ideas people gave me).
Nothing seams to work
Help please.
