MC24 installation with Mojave
« on: October 28, 2018, 11:49:52 am »

Hi, not sure if anyone else has this problem, when I try to install MC24 on a MacBook Pro using Mojave it will only create a shortcut to the installation file and then produces multiple installation sequences each time I close MC24 and reopen it with the shortcut.

Other software I have installed recently has asked if I'd like to install a copy to Applications but this doesn't happen with MC24.  I've tried the latest build and several previous versions, anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Unfortunately not, I'd already disabled that a while ago, this is specifically when trying to install the app. Thanks anyway :)

Oh, are you trying to open the .mjr license file instead of the Media Center 24 app, by chance?

Make sure you've got the .dmg file (the actual MC24 app) from this topic here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,117725.0.html

Open that, and then drag the Media Center 24 app into the Applications folder. Then open Media Center 24 from the Applications folder. Then you can use the .mjr license file to register Media Center 24 (or you can copy/paste your registration key when it prompts).

Thanks, but the link you gave me is the file I've using, the problem occurs when I drag and drop to applications, it always creates just a shortcut back to the dmg which of course starts a new installation!

Any other ideas anyone, I'm beginning to think its a Mojave issue.

Fixed! It seems you can no longer drag things to the applications folder in the dock! You have to drop them in the folder in Finder, works fine then! Thanks for the help and suggestions!
