Add images from clipboard or URL tremedously long
« on: December 13, 2018, 06:56:57 am »

As per subject, whenever I add images to multimedia tracks by copying (righ-cliclk -> Copy Image or copy Image Address) images from a web  browser and then right clicking the album in the JRiver window (Cover Art - > Paste from Clipboard (Image or URL)) It takes ages (many seconds, sometime 20) to complete

I just pasted a couple URLs into Media Center and each took less than a second.

Is it possible you have some security software running that could be slowing the web access down?  Or do you have a slow connection?

Thanks.

MC has a setting that writes the cover art *inside* of files that support it.  It will do this on FLAC files for sure and probably several other formats.  This means that MC is re-writing portions of each affected file.  For an album this might be 20 or more files.

I would expect this to be fast.  But if you have disks that are on a NAS that have spun down, or even locally attached disks that are in power saving mode (spun down) there might be a significant delay while the drives wake up.

Just a guess.

If you're using Win10, Windows Defender is running.
