Media Center 9.0.176 available
« on: May 21, 2003, 02:02:28 pm »

Media Center 9.0.176 is available:

ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter90176.exe

History:

1. Fixed: Media Center was not fixing directory names if they did not have trailing back slash.
2. Fixed: Media Center would not properly upgrade a version 8 database where file tags were intentionally different than the library.
3. Fixed: Fixed a couple of Remote Server / Net Remote issues.
4. NEW: Added new class of system MCC commands.  (for now, has keystroke and shutdown commands)
5. NEW: Added MCC commands for play playlist, play next playlist, and play previous playlist.
6. NEW: Added a delay option for Media Server startup.
7. Changed: Hairstyle only shows thumbnail selection when the thumbnail list has the focus.

Now that this software is released, you should make sure that every update is available using the Help-> Check For Updates command.  I would not have known that this release was available if I hadn't checked the Interact forums.

What are MCC commands?  Is there someplace I can learn about them?

Builds come to Interact first.

If they get the stamp of approval, they become the default and show up in "Check for Updates."

We know it's there somewhere.  We just can't reproduce it.  Magic bullets (ideas) welcome.

Matt,

When I got the pausing error it appeared to be after moving the focus to another application when MC was paused.  I paused it, changed to IE, did a bit of surfing, went downstairs to make a cuppa, came back and tried to unpause MC and that was when it got stuck in the loop.  I then quit and restarted and tried to repeat the process again but couldn't so I think it may be to do with MC being out of focus but then I can't be sure cos like you I couldn't reproduce it again afterwards.

Hope this helps a bit,

Adam

Hi Matt,

I remembered several of us has asked about supporting the Terratec Sound Card because our volume control does not work in Music Center.

Any resolution?

Matt / Steve,

Currently, when I load a list of songs to playing now, the playback sequence does not match the track ordering.  In other words, the playback sequence might be something like 7, 1, 2, 10, 4, 6, etc., but I would like it (by default) to match the track listing and instead be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc... Is there any way to have the playback sequence mimic the track numbering so that the first track in the playback sequence is also the first (or lowest numbered in the case of incomplete albums) track on the album?  This also applies to CDs that I rip...when I put the CD in the tray, the track listing is not ordered by track number...I know I can do all of this manually by right-clicking and choosing update playback order, but I sometimes forget to do this...if it's not too much trouble...

Thanks,

Chris

Wobb...

PN plays back in the same sequence as what was sent to it. If it isn't then you have shuffle turned on. You can however do a resort within PN by...do your sort, right clicking on the PN folder and select "Update Playback Order".

3. Fixed: Fixed a couple of Remote Server / Net Remote issues.

Sorry, but for me you have created new ones. When I try to use NetRemote to open the library on the computer I have 176 on (the other one is running 172 with what I think is the same Remote Server file that you have in 176 - at least it's the same number of bytes - and works nicely) I get multiple of the C++ error window. MC will continue playing whatever it's playing at the moment, but when the play list is ended, I can't start anything new, I have to restart MC.  :(

Just to clarify - Mastiff has a "prerelease" of the code that I believe has been integrated into build 176 that he's running on build 172. I will download build 176 and check to see if it works for me this evening.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm doing my best with my limited mental abilities to help the Wicked one with bug hunting since my system has three computers running MC and all in all 10 zones, so I can really put it through it's paces on the multizone/multiple hosts thing. btw I too see the messed up playing order on my system.
