Streaming not available
« on: April 19, 2019, 11:08:27 am »

I'm a new user of MC and have just installed on a Windows 10 machine and a Raspberry Pi. On the Windows machine I can select Streaming and get access to various radio stations. This isn't working on the Raspberry Pi. All I get is a blank page which has the word "Loading" in the center. I also see this when MC first starts up. The Windows machine shows a JRiver web page, but the Pi shows the same blank "Loading" page. I am guessing that MC does not have internet access, but the internet is available via the standard web browser on the Pi. Is there something I need to do with the setup to correct this?

If I recall correctly, I don't think the streaming stuff is in the MC for Linux builds yet.

What are you trying to stream? I can get Radio paradise from my Linux install. What version  are you running?

Some of it is implemented and some not yet.
Radio Paradise should work.
Radio JRiver needs a change we are working on.

Many of the rest will play in the libwebgtk browser used by the Pi build of MC.

RP works but I need to launch it from JRemote and it will play to whatever DLNA zone is selected. However it doesn't appear as an option in the Linux MC25 program itself.

Also once running the playlist is visible on my Mac client against the "There:<renderer>", but it cannot be launched from the Mac other than to play locally.

RP will show up on the Streaming Page in the Tree.
Another way to get to it is to create a shortcut on one of the toolbars (right-click customize toolbar) and choose one of the RP channels in the list to add to the toolbar.

It's not in the tree itself. It's on the web page displayed when you do streaming.

I find it a lot easier to just add the button...

Yep thanks Bob.

It certainly appears in mac and windows, but what I find often is the Linux web page simply does not load. prob my setup.

But good point I could simply add the button, but for now jremote does the job.

There are some optimizations in the linux internet reading code which exposed a flaw in MC's redirect which has been fixed. That possibly was your issue.
Otherwise, if the start page shows, your streaming page should also show. If neither page shows there is probably something wrong with your setup.
The x64 version downloads its own web browser the first time it runs. The x86 and arm builds use webkit-gtk on the system.
