ANY way to stop eject after cdrw erase?
« on: May 08, 2003, 05:18:39 pm »

Is there ANY way to not eject after cdrw erase?  My pc is in another room.  It would be good if the eject would function along with the "eject after write" flag but it doesn't

I am bothered by applications that insist on ejecting the CD tray as well.  Just the other day, ProShow Gold did it to me, and my dog could have had a field day with the open tray.  Dust is another issue.  And there is NO option to disable ejection.  It drives me nuts!

Two options come to mind, but they are both suboptimal: Put duct tape over the CD tray (OK, I'm joking); or use Task Scheduler to run a command-line utility which closes (or attempts to close) the tray on a regular basis (such as every 30 mintues, while the PC is unattended).

There are a slew of free utilities of that type.  WinEject is one of them:
