Bug in Setup
« on: August 31, 2019, 02:21:27 am »

Hi
Simply run setup, when asked for install folder, right click inside the path text box, to copy or paste the path for example, the installer crashes and close!
Best.

What Windows OS are you trying to run the installer on? And are you using any antivirus/antimalware software? If so, what?

I can reproduce that.  We'll take a look next week.  Thanks.

Thanks, I use Windows 10 Enterprise x64 1903, but I remember on previous builds of Windows 10 this error was also present, this bug exists for a very long time, I have no idea why no one reported, and due to lack of any contact form on the website I couldn't report anyway, finally had to register in forum for a simple report.

I also run x64 version of JRiver installer, please note than when starting setup:

Accept > Custom > Normal Install > now installation path comes, right click inside the TextBox and setup will crash/close immediately!
or you can take portable path:
Accept > Custom > Portable Install > now installation path comes, right click inside the TextBox and setup will crash/close immediately!

I have no any Anti Virus or Firewall rather than Windows internal one, which is DISABLED as well, and being enabled or disabled does not have any effect on this bug!

* I say check the code under TextBox_Right_Click_Event, there you are calling an invalid function or method.
* Suppressing errors in programming is the worst possible thing, such errors can occur without any message!

Thank you for your quick fix, you mean next version after build 98? Perhaps 100?

The fix will be in 99 or newer, depending on which one we release.
Of course you can easily avoid this issue right now by just not right-clicking in there, and installing MC just fine. :)
