network streaming problem with some radio
« on: October 17, 2019, 07:19:12 am »

I cannot open anymore some radio in JRiver 25 or 24 like this one http://direct.francemusique.fr/live/francemusique-midfi.mp3
although this URL works with VLC.
This one http://streaming.radio.funradio.fr/fun-1-44-128  works for both jriver and VLC.
I of course prefer to open my radios within JRiver to benefit from its DSP.
Any idea of whats happening ?

Although I have been using JRiver for 15 years it has taken me a very long time to find a solution which is quite evident afterwards. So I give it here for those who have the same problem.
In option associations, for aac and mp3,  reading mode should not be left to automatic but set to JRiver FFmpeg. That's all and it works now I can listen to my radios.
To the developpers : maybe you can do someting so that JRiver finds it automatically.

That first URL only opens when we set the user agent to something other than JRiver.

I'll make the upcoming builds of v26 use a more compatible user agent.

Thanks for the help!
