Zones: How to use? Can one add 2 or more speaker systems?
« on: October 21, 2019, 03:30:25 pm »

I am wondering how to make Media Center 25 in DLNA mode? mimic
how Airfoil or even iTunes works to be able to stream or output
or distribute audio sent to a computer running the software
to multiple receiving speaker systems that are within the same
network.

So basically I have an audio source that beams audio via wi-fi
to a server/stationary computer. The MAC (or Windows) computer running MC25
or just like with Airfoil or iTunes can select or check which Audio
systems to forward that audio such as to Chromecast Audio &
AudioCast & Yamaha R-N803 MusicCast system & Linksys Range Extender 65K
with audio port... etc.

So far I can do this using JR MC25 but I have to run Airfoil to attach
or connect the other networked receiving speaker systems. There is about
a 6 second delay in the process.

So can I create a zone and then add the wi-fi/networked speaker systems
I want to be streamed to in this Zone list? I would then beam the
audio to a computer running JR MC25 that will forward the audio to this zone name
to serve as a container for a collection of networked speakers systems.

Thank you.

Addendum RE: Mac forum section response ...

Yes, I agree and posted the question there earlier today... I was or am
hoping one does not get deleted.

I posted it here only because JR MC25 works so well on Mac and Mac is lacking
in this area where Windows is more focused with this as it runs or can run
Neutron Music Player. I do have problems with Airfoil there however..

What what I am trying to accomplish here, going through MacOS , the audio
sounds better and not compressed as I suspect Windows is doing.

so ...

Android portable device & Neutron --beam audio--> MacOS computer running JRMC25 & Airfoil connected to several networked-speaker systems---Yamaha RN-803, Linksys RE 6500, MusicCast, ChromeCast audio, AppleTV, AirportExpress Audio

My goal is to not run Airfoil as it could be causing the 6 seconds of delay
Hopefully JR MC25 can be a DLNA render that can forward or distribute lossless (uncompressed)
audio to various networked speaker systems aforementioned.

Thank you.
