Startup Mode Question
« on: April 27, 2003, 03:42:16 pm »

Options->Startup->Startup Page set to Media Library

So MC is playing a track, and I exit the program.

Restart MC and click play, it seems to start playing a random song in the library.  Is this correct?

On mine it plays the last song played before exiting. Seems to remember the contents of your playing now from the last session...and starts there. I thought you went back to 8?

It plays a random song for me..... when I exit and return and hit play.  Did you set it to start up in Media Library to test this?

I will be reverting shortly, just playing around some before I go back.

In General - what do you have Play Button set to do?

When in the default of "Play Visible Files All" it does the random playback, when in "Playing Now", it seems to play back the lastd playing song.  Documentation is essential to know what the interaction between these new option settings are for.

(and I still click randomly on my task bar to switch between Media Center and Nescape, the little round icons are very similar).

If I clear PN before exiting, restart MC, then hit play...then it will bring up the first file it finds based on a ascending alphabetical sort of the filenames (path ignored). In my case the file it chooses is the only one to begin with a number (816-JudithDeim-portrait.jpg)

Set to "Play Visible files (all)"

No - shuffle mode is not on.  Have never used it, it's not on.

I can only reproduce this by turning on shuffle mode. (which is intended)  Otherwise it starts with the first file (or the selected file if I select one)

Is it possible it got turned on by accident? (Player->Player Options->Shuffle Mode)

Also, does how you sort make some difference?

Can anybody else reproduce this with shuffle off?
